I was really surprised that several Theatricals sold for as little as they did. While I only saw one, I was told they were pretty crooked.

However, Theatrical doesn't exactly have a reputation for getting a clean legged critter, additionally, in this speed, dirt, 2-yr. old, crazy culture, he is going to suffer in the sales ring.

I am guessing yours is an exceptional individual who had good x-rays and scope. A couple years ago such a Theatrical would have gone for much more than that which you paid.

My guess is that you plan on running her in Canada or Europe. In either case, she is definitely bred with a leaning for the turf. While the wisdom offered by Halo seems blunt, it does offer more than seen on surface. Our good friend says, "You'll know in 2 years.", which allows that you may not really know what you have until near the end of her 3yr. old season.

Good luck!

A friend of mine showed me a Theatrical filly she liked (#1809) that had a very nice page. While not physically perfect, there was nothing egregiously wrong with her. I was shocked to later see that she had sold for only 10K. If I hadn't just bought a filly the evening before, I'd have been happy to have her myself.

Good luck with your purchase, Green Hills!

Yes, the plan is to run her in Europe, along with another (Hip 1252) that we purchsed.

And thanks for the good wishes...we all know that no matter what the paper says about their breeding, no matter how good, it can be a "just cross your fingers and here's hoping" LOL!!!

Who do you use as a trainer in Europe, I can keep an eye out for them then. Do you have any other horses in training over here?

We have several racing in Europe. Hesmond's will act as our agent, or perhaps lease the horses from us to run there.
