Just tuned in the TVG to hear that Patrick Valenzuela was kicked by his mount prior to a race at Hollywood Park. He was kicked below his 'flack jacket' and is going to the hospital for precautionary x-rays.
Tyler Baze picked up the mount. (Gotta Getta or something like that.)
I don't have any further details. Maybe someone can fill in the blanks.

Ouch...front or back of the flack jacket? I just have this vision of him getting kicked where it counts the most on a man. Shudder.

Ouch. Hopefully this isn't true, but I feared the same thing for him after reading the description the first time. The BloodHorse online article mentioned his side, though.
Something must have hurt pretty bad to get him off his mounts for the afternoon, whether it was his side, his buttocks, or yikes, his groin. Hopefully all is well with Valenzuela and we will be updated to that effect soon.
Jocks have the biggest b*lls in the world! In this case I just hope that this remains a figure of speech rather than a reality

No, it was definitely higher. Sounds like he was cowkicked on the side, just under his vest, as he was trying to mount. On the replay, he was down for awhile, and he did walk to the ambulance but was holding his side.
Broken ribs will be very painful and he may be out for awhile while they heal, but at least it doesn't sound like there were serious internal injuries or other, uh..."vital" areas affected.
Get well soon, P Val
