Virtual stables

Was there ever an e-mail alert service that let you track horses by a particular sire? I thought I recalled seeing one a long time ago, but perhaps my memory is addled (again  ).

Equineline has a portfolio that lets you do that, but it's not free... pretty cheap, though, if you don't have 50 stallions you're tracking.

Equibase has one for free.

Seriously? And here I am paying every month... The portfolio includes workouts, entries, results, speed figures, sales activity, and registration activity... what does the Equibase one include?

Equibase one does not show sales activity, or speed figures, or registry.

It just sends you an e-mail when the horse has worked, when it is entered, and when it ran.

That's right, it's probably not as informative as the one you use. It's great if you just want to keep track of a number of horses. It will send you a message to warn you of upcoming races (with details) and lets you know when they have worked, their time, and at which track. It's quite handy!

My biggest mistake was adding too many horses. Now I'm too lazy to even look at the e-mails because my inbox is always filled with them.

Set your preferences to digest, you'll get one email a day.

Far as I know, you can't do a VS by sire unless you pay for it (I think Equineline's is $0.15 per notice sent -- 1 sire with 5 entries @ $0.15 would be $0.75 for the day). The individual horses are free, though (250 horse limit).

Does any one know what the limit is of how many horses you can put on your Equbase VS watch list? :?:
