I assume you are talking about the inbreeding to Raise a Native. I did something a bit like that with Believe It Shesdue x Cape Town. She is out of Plenty O'Toole whose damsire is Raise a Cup.

I think mine is a bit more elegant at 4x4, and also has 4x4 Buckpasser and 5x5 Nashua. Somehow 2x5 looks unbalanced to me.

Its worth noting that from the standpoint of the actual amount of inbreeding, 2x5 is the exact equivalent of 3x4.

Now of course the half of a pair of Doubled Genes that were got from the 2nd Gen cross of RAN will have undergone less generations of filtering through selection than the Doubled Genes got from a 3rd Gen cross of RAN found in a hoss inbred 3x4 to him; and perhaps that's a reason to prefer the 3x4 configuation over the 2x5 one.

I interpreted Sam's comment as "wow, don't see too many yearlings out of Raise a Native mares these days."

That would be correct. I didn't even think there were RAN mares still producing. That one is 19 years old, though I see her mama was 18 when she was born.

Also, the DI = 7.00 That's interesting.

I wonder if the 'unraced' means 'unraced (so far)' because he's two or if there's been an injury, etc.

Anyone know the story on this horribly named horse?

The filly is a 2005 model, so "unraced" could mean "when I put this foal in the database she was a weanling" or it could mean "in training but hasn't made it yet" or any number of things. I'm banking on she's unraced because her name was plugged into the database as a weaner.

No, unraced with that name as of the foal report I received on the 4th at 1230pm. That's his name so it's probably "in training, unraced"

That's what I was thinking. But this 'filly' is listed as a male. That's what I meant by horrible name. Horrible anyway, really.
