Firstdowntouchdown needs a home quickly

Postby Louise » Sun Oct 07, 2007 8:11 am

Thank goodness I don't have to post these too often, but we do have a horse that we need to find a home for quickly. FLTAP's rented facilities are full and our beautiful new barn need to be certified for occupancy before we can start moving horses in there.

The trainer of Firstdowntouchdown needs to move him this week. He really wants to find this guy a good home, but has no choice about getting him off of the track, as he needs the stall. I saw him yesterday, and he is a very attractive horse with a kind eye. If anyone was thinking about getting an OTTB, and was waiting for just the right opportunity, this is it.

We have him listed as Horse of the Week. Please take a look and see if you can't open your heart to him.

Firstdowntouchdown needs sponsors - quickly!

Postby YoTambien » Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:49 pm

Long story, but Firstdowntouchdown was acquired by The Exceller Fund. Originally we thought his care would be covered, but that situation did not work out.

We are working with a negative cash flow right now, and can really use help with people willing to sponsor his care. We are looking at costs of at least $150 a month to provide for him, and I think it will be at least 6 months before he will be ready for adoption. He's a little over at the knee so is probably not a jumping prospect. The current care provider will be evaluating him under saddle in the next week or so and let us know what his potential might be.

He needs to gain weight and realize that he is no longer at the racetrack. The person who now has him says he looks and acts like a two year old rather than the 4 year old that he is.

We are looking for anyone who would like to help sponsor him by sending in at least $15 a month.

Inquiries can be sent to [email protected]

Thanks Gerry - PayPal had everyone "upgrade" their payment buttons, and it appears the upgrade doesn't like our website frames.

I'm hoping our web person can figure out the tangle of html code. Lord knows I tried "hacking" away at it and I turned the page into a jumble so I had to restore the page from my back up file.

We're working on a new website that will eliminate those pesky frames, but it is very slow going trying to translate 10 years of organization website history into a more efficient layout. Our target unveiling date is January 1, 2008.
