Help find a home for Streaking Woman

Postby Louise » Fri Nov 09, 2007 5:20 am

There is a mare listed on the FLTAP site that is going to be a hard placement, because most of the folks who look there are hunter/jumper/dressage people. They are looking for young, tall geldings. This is an older, small mare.

But, man, this girl is as tough as they come! Take a look at her pedigree -- 113 starts, and she is still sound.

I am not any kind of pedigree expert, but, haven't I read that the large heart gene is carried on the damline? Since, on the dam side, Streaking Woman goes back to Secretariat, could she carry the large heart gene?

She's a pretty girl, even if she did insist on doing her best giraffe impression when we were trying to take her picture.

So, bottom line, does anyone know of anybody who might be interested in the lovely lady?

I may be able to help this girl out. I'll call the #'s listed on her ad for more info.

If she's sound for breeding I'd love to have her. TB4sport let me know if you got her. She's not bad at all.

Wow, what a tough mare.

I'm glad there's interest in her here and it sounds like she should find a good home, as it should be for such a campaigner. She has a nice pedigree to my eye, though I'm still learning. Her dam produced another runner that started alomst 100 times and earned nearly 100K according to the database. Her second dam produced a G1SW.

Sweet!

Well my small FL mare is proving to be a LOVELY dressage prospect! Rode her the first time in a year since I got her and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got! Though her toeing out will make it hard to sell her, though I am told it's normal of her sire's get.

I want to thank you all for your responses. Besides the ones here, I got several PM's. The trainer should be very pleased, and I am now confident that Streaking Woman will find a good home.

You know, for those of you who don't get this girl, take a good look at the other mares being listed on our site. There are some real gems, both for riding and breeding. I am always amazed at the quality of these horses.

helen in FL, I'd love to know who you got. PM me if you want.
