I just came back from hooking the foal cam up. We are live on the net! Quite an Evening (Jess) is due February 23rd with her Slew City Slew foal. You may have to refresh the home page on my site to get the new link to the foal cam to come up, but there are links on the left side of the home page and also on the bottom of most other pages.
Some people are having problems connecting. If that happens to you click the MareStare.com link on the top of the foal cam and go to their cam viewing problems section. I figure if I can see it on three computers then there isn't a problem with the setup on this end. The link to my site is in my signature or you can link it through the marestare.com site, go to live cams then click on the M's and scroll down until you find McDowell racing stables.
Here we go!

I have been stuck in AOL hell with that connection at the barn. I have had the cam up three days now and it has been off more than it has been on. I have to use dial up there and it just booted me off for no apparent reason all the time. It wouldn't be a big deal except the barn is 15 miles away. That is a long drive for the 20 seconds it takes to dial the stupid thing back up.
At the recommendation of marestare I switched to Juno this morning. So far the cam is up and running, hopefully it will stay that way. I am already worrying about so many things, I didn't even think
about having to add internet connection to the list. I guess that shows I have been on cable so long at home that I had forgotten how annoying it can be.
Try it again, its addicting! She is out in the pasture right now and I am still watching her now empty stall! Two cats just came in and sniffed her feed tub, that has been the highlight of the day so far...

Great Website!
Laurie,
Just wanted to send you a note about your website! I really enjoyed reading all the great information and stories! At some time in the future, I would love to start a small racing operation, and your website and insight are invaluable to those of us who love our Thoroughbreds! I also enjoy the marestare website and will watch with great interest when Jess foals out!

FYI, in the past I've had friends that put a foaling webcam up and announced it on the web, and there were so many hits that it says its not working. What is really happening is that there are maybe 20 available logins, and anyone who logged in after that just gets the "not working" message. If you log in when there is less traffic, it will work fine. I'm not sure if that is what is happening here, but it might be.
