Overlooked Derby Horse?

Postby dumont84 » Fri May 02, 2008 3:32 pm

A horse running from the 4 spot may outrun everybody at the finish. Court Vision may be the horse if super horse Big Brown's light schedule and outside post catch up with him. I'll tell you why I think so. First he has gained ground in the stretch in all 6 of his races. He has never been out of the money. His worst race was after a 3 month layoff, and he missed in his first race which shows he is better after having a race. His trainer is Bill Mott, who put a bullet work in him on the 17th of April for 4F in 46.1 b and was 1/23. He has Garett Gomez riding. Enough said!

His gaining ground in the stretch may be due to his outstanding presence of double copy mares on the dam's side. He has 7 of 8 dams in the first 4 generations carrying the distinction of being double copy mares. I think Bill from Wa has given him the first or second highest conduit mare profile score for stamina among the KD entrants. Perhaps his more favorable post position will carry the day. Hope so.

laugh if you want, but I handicapped the Derby today, and came up with Adriano as the winner.

Hard to argue against a son of A.P. Indy and out of a Mr. P daughter. Stranger things have happened.

yep, Pedigree was part of it, so was the way Prado chose him.
No fool, he.
But with 20 and racing luck---anything can happen.

I've heard several very knowledgable horsemen say that Court Vision could be the horse to beat.
