I have been informed that one of our long-time members, Larrygene, passed away last week of heart failure. Larrygene was very passionate about the industry and his beliefs, and often shared that passion with the members of this forum. His contributions here will be missed.
His widow plans to "keep the stallions, mares and yearlings and continue his dream." She intends to check messages on this board, as well as Larrygene's email, and has indicated a willingness to respond to questions about Larrygene or their horses.
I would like to personally extend my condolences to Mrs. Larrygene, and I would also like to welcome her to the board and let her know that we are here to offer her our support in any way that we can.

I too am sorry to hear about Larrygene's passing. We welcome Mrs. Larrygene to the forum - for comfort and support and when she's ready for a good laugh or two. My thoughts are with Larrygene's family at this time.

It will be impossible not to miss Larrygene and many of us have benefited greatly by his expertise and kind, gentle manner. I received several emails from his wife and she is clearly as lovely a woman as he was a classy guy. He shared his love for horses and handicapping with her and she has developed a great passion for the breed and the sport, as well. She gave her kind permission for me to pass this on to you.
Hello:
I am larrygene's wife. I suspect that you and others are wondering where he is and why you haven't been overwhelmed with his passionate postings.
I lost larrygene on June 25. His service was June 30 in Oklahoma City.
He closed his eyes and didn't wake up. I was driving us home from Cleveland when I discovered he stopped breathing.
I lost a sweet, dear, unselfish husband. All that list messages on the Pedigree Query Forum have lost one passionate pedigree, racing, claiming, southern gentlemen.
I will check his emails and attempt to respond to your questions. In the mean time I'm in the process of joining the horse men and women and acquiring my owners license.
Don't cry for larrygene but look to the heavens, in believe he is looking down upon us.

This is an edited version (names deleted) of the obituary of the man that we have grown to know on this forum as Larrygene. His enthusiasm was evident (and contagious) throughout his life and I join all of you in wishing the best that the future holds for Mrs. Larrygene. I’m sure that she will appreciate your graceful sharing of knowledge, as did Larrygene.
Larrygene was born May 1, 1948, in Greenwood, Mississippi and at the age of 10, he and his family moved to Jackson, Mississippi where he grew up and graduated from Jackson High School and then Mississippi State with a degree in Animal Science. He worked in oil and gas minerals and seismic permitting. While living in Nacogdoches, Texas, he met his future wife and they were married November 25, 2004. After their marriage they made Oklahoma City their home. Larrygene owned thoroughbred racehorses and he was very passionate and supportive about the sport and it's special causes. He is survived by his wife, two stepsons, his sister and her husband, and a nephew. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Race Track Chaplaincy of America, P.O. Box 91640, Los Angeles, CA 90009.

Mrs Larrygene, I'm so sorry for your loss, I know what it is to lose a husband so suddenly. I hope it is OK to post this website, but I've found it helpful to me. www.widownet.org I hope this will help. Again, my deepest condolences.

Larrygene was a wonderful forum friend and he will be missed. I gained a lot from his gentlemanly presence on this and other boards. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. May you have the comfort of God in this time of grief. Larrygene will be much missed here.

Larrygene
I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of "Larrygene"..He was truly a Southern gentleman that was here for the love of the horse..
I had received several emails from him ..He expressed his love for his family, country and his love for his horses...Since I am from Arkansas we called each other neighbor..It was a pleasure to have "met" him on this site...
May God bless his soul......I am so sorry that he is gone....g
