Yes, and then the sale was cancelled right before the date.

Power, the owner e mailed me the other day asking me to "please stop posting that SS is being sold." He claims under no circumstances will SS be sold and claims the Farm is "sending out incorrect information" in an "attempt to pressure him"

Regarding the sale, Windfall should include the following which is part of their written announcement.

"This notice is given in provisions of section 21707 etseq. of the Business and Professional Code of the state of California. Purchased goods are sold as is with no warranty as to TITLE or condition and must be removed within one day of purchase. Payment is to be with cash only and made at the time of purchase"

I guess if you go on a gamble you might pick up some horses at a bargain or waste a lot of gas in the attempt..

I've heard that name M.P. before...is there another post about him somewhere?

Does the above quote mean that they are being sold without papers? Will the papers be able to be transferred to the new owners allowing them to race the yearlings or to register future foals with the Jockey Club from the broodmares?

No, you are not the only one. And when you factor in the likelihood that this "sale" will be cancelled the day before, it makes it all even more annoying.

I agree the posts are somewhat distasteful and I presume Windy has some connection to the farm or hates MP for some other reason. With that premise, the farm has every right and need to let the public know about the sale. The horses need to sell for as much as possible. Most likely the horses will not sell for the total amount due leaving the farm with a deficiency judgment and losing that deficiency amount in a bankruptcy action.

Left unstated is that the farm continues to have to feed and care for all those horses while this saga drags onward. Sad for all parties.

My point, however, was that no one else seems to be allowed or attempts to cross post to every other subject area. It's spamming, in my opinion. There are identical posts in RACING, SALES, BUYING/SELLING, GENERAL DISCUSSION and STALLIONS.

and also the fact that this person created a screen name specifically for this purpose. ALL of their posts are around this one event.

My 2 cents.....

Yes, it is spamming... shades of Edie. I use the "Mark All Topics Read" button to avoid those and that endless Finochio diatribe on unsoundness.

You can't block individual posts. But if you only read the Orange-flagged ones you want to read, you can mark all the rest read using the tiny "Mark All Topics Read" button above the upper right corner of the box containing all the posts. The remaining orange flags go away.
