Maybe the moderator can take Gerry off of the Fantasy Claiming Challenge as a moderator. I am not sure, but I think it is safe to say she won't be welcome on the board anymore!!!

Sadly, this entire thread just shows another way in which BIG BROTHER is everywhere, watching all us of, trying to impose their belief, morals (or lack thereof) and judgements as to what is right and wrong on us. There is NOTHING wrong with pasture breeding, there is nothing wrong with breeding at all...the "authorities" should be worried about the thin, abandoned horses that last years hay shortage and ever increasing grain prices (thanks ethanol lovers ) and not what horses who are obviously cared for are doing.

As emotional as this situation has made some people, I must remind everyone to review forum rules #1 and #3. Discussion is encouraged, but personal attacks are not acceptable on this forum; no matter what the circumstances.

Where is the situation? I haven't seen a darn thing other than through some interaction from others. Very odd.

oh....
So the situation is that one of our members had her horses taken in by the SPCA and now some of us are turning our backs on her?
I wonder if anyone has taken the time to send her a note to ask if she needs any help? My guess is that this isn't the result of an evil person, but probably someone who got in over her head.
the horses are indeed in a bad way in some of the pictures, but I think we owe a bit more support to our own member and esp. should not kick her while she is down.
my 2 cents

That is a hard sentiment for me to get my head around When, #1 she feels as though she has done nothing wrong. and #2 was taking clients money and not giving their horses the basic needs of survival!! #3 She never cried out for help and was spending money on more horses! Which she could not look after!
maybe some of the people who lost their mares at her farm will chip in and send her a bouquet of flowers! It must be so terrible for her.

No.
I bought a couple of horse from her a few years back which were in rough shape, out of pitty. Race prospects, for obvious reasons they never made it to the races. I had just recently put one of the mares up for sale in foal to my stallion Gone Fishin and she emailed me wanted to pruchase her. She couldn't look after the ones she had!!
I know someone who had their mare starve to death over there and managed to get her yearling out of there before the sh@#t hit the fan!! The poor little thing looks like it is a weanling!!
I just can't stand the fact that this happened and to quite a few people on this board who spent their hard earned money at that place and had this happen to their horses. The people involved are also either, that ignorant about what they did or there is something mentally wrong with them!!! Either way I hope they go to jail for a long time and are never allowed to own animals again!! No excuses, no mercy. End of story.
