Lost a mare and foal :(

Postby Mood Swings » Tue Jan 27, 2009 5:05 pm

Sadly on January 25th my mare had a severe dystocia and we lost the foal  It was an awful experience. After heroic efforts by our vet my mare lost her battle and died 18 hours later   She was never able to rise after the foaling. It was definately the longest 24 hours of my life.

RIP Tearfull Moment and filly, I'll miss you :(

OMG, that is heartbreaking news, just terrible. My thoughts are with you, I can't even imagine how awful that must have been to witness.

So sorry for your double heartbreak.

I am so sorry for your tragedy, been there and done that, it's absolutely horrible. Take care of yourself, try to get some rest - a good glass of wine helps immensely.

Know that the breeding industry is plauged with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, it's not for the faint of heart, but the rewards are immense.

Sending my deepest of sympathies.
