Brushed Bayou died this morning.

Postby dray33 » Fri Apr 17, 2009 7:02 am

There's really not much to say here, except when I see it happen to other folks on the forum and pass along my condolences, I never quite understood what it was all about. I do now. Sadly, Brushed Bayou died this morning during emergency colic surgery. I'm thinking about all of you that have gone through it. I guess posting here is some kind of communal therapy... but I just wanted to say that she was my first, and favorite... and will be missed.

RIP girl. I will watch over your baby, your only legacy.

Oh god Dray I am truly sorry. I know only too recently the pain of losing the one we seem gravitated too. May she rest in peace, and she'll have a friend in Spex and the others we all have lost. Love on the baby even more for her mom!
Don't know if you named the filly yet but when you brought up legacy , I can't help but feel that should be part of it.
Bless you and yours. :(
trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while. :)

I am so very sorry to hear that. It's so hard to lose any of them; let alone a favorite.

I am very sorry for your loss, be comforted in that she had a good life with you-and you at least tried too save her. Which is an awful lot more than most horses can hope for...

Very sorry to read of your loss Dray. Brushed Bayou was a good one and held the promise of providing a legacy beyond her own great racing moments. Thoroughbred breeding and racing raises up the greatest of dreams and can cruelly dash success that seems to be secured in a moment. I am so very sorry you lost this great mare. Take comfort in the thrills she gave you on the track and the thrill you're going to have watching her foal grow and mature

Sorrow

Postby hpkingjr » Fri Apr 17, 2009 10:33 am

Words seem to have very little comfort at times like this. Please know we all in some small way share your pain, your loss and your sorrow. She will be waiting by the gate.
