ladies, i need some help
i cannot, for the life of me, find women's jeans that fit that are made w/o some % of spandex. i find them to be hot and sticky in warm weather and they stretch during the course of the day. can someone point me to a source or brand of women's jeans that are 100% cotton, like the good old days? thanks.

From an old cotton farmer, congratulations on re-discovering the virtues of 100% cotton fabric. We go through this every so often with the "miracle" mixes, and then users find that just plain cotton is just plain better, which is good for us.
Try Tractor Supply and LLBean. The online store Appleseed.com might have something, as might Orvis.

I will agree with above posters-work jeans are going to be more likely to be 100% cotton than "fashion" jeans.
I looked at the wrangler site, and a lot of their jeans are 100%-
My dad swears by wranglers-says they wear better than any other jeans he has ever bought.
Levi's should also be a better chance at being 100% cotton.
I would not think that 1-3% spandex is going to make a big difference-but I understand exactly what you are saying.
Honestly. of all of my jeans I prefer Chaps (Ralph Lauren) for wear/durability, style & comfort over any other brand-
But Honestly, right now I cannot see dropping that kind of dough on jeans when the critters need new fly sheets.

Carhartt

I buy these for my husband and they are great. I wish I could buy them for me too but have had little luck fitting jeans for myself via catalog, although I've got a nice pair of Land's End pre-Sears that are nice.
Land's End, L.L. Bean, and Carhartt are great places to shop for guy jeans, especially when the inseam has to be 36 inches- you don't find those in stores much. I don't shop jeans by catalog for myself as I find I have to try on about a zillion styles to find one that fits.
I used to shop Land's End jeans all the time for my husband until they were bought out by Sears. Then, IMHO, the quality seemed to take a dive, especially colorfastness. Hubby prefers fit of Carhartt's to L.L. Bean and that's just personal preference, although we also had some colorfastness issues with the Bean* jeans as well. HOWEVER, the caveat is that those were all black jeans and maybe the regular blue jeans would be quite fine.
*L.L. Bean has been outstanding in replacing or taking back any item with issues. We just never sent the jeans back to them but I have other items and even after a month, if a zipper failed, they took them back. So I've had one issue with ONE of their products and I didn't bother to send them back, husband just wore them anyway.
As with the jeans, I buy almost all of his shirts from L.L. Bean and they are just outstanding. You can get good prices too from time to time when they have sales, you just have to call in early to get sizes and colors as they run out.
No issues with Carhartt either and sometimes you can find their brands in local feed and farm stores that carry some clothing. You won't get $20.00 jeans but the quality is outstanding. And yes, I would try Carhartt's there and will once I find a store that carries ladies jeans too!
But, back to women. I hear you. I prefer jeans without the spandex and especially if you are shopping for women's jeans, everything seems to have spandex these days. After a couple hours in the jeans, even if they started out tight, they're baggy. For some things that's OK but I'd rather just have the 100% cotten.
