SoCal Trainers File Appeal Against Ingrid Fermin

Postby zinn21 » Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:26 pm

Jeff Mullins, Mike Mitchell, Doug O'Neill, Steve Knapp, Art Sherman, and Brian Koriner, as well as horse owner Sean Gerson have filed an appeal regarding former CHRB Director now Part Time Del Mar steward, Ingrid Fermin, claiming she lacks the ability to make unbiased decisions on matters concerning them.

Owner Jerry Jamgotchian filed a formal complaint. see link:

Just my two cents, but, while I agree we need more women in racing, if the allegations of "Jamgotchian contends Fermin illegally gambled on a horse race while a steward and engaged in illegal activities, cover-ups, and the targeting of certain trainers for investigations during her time as executive director", are in fact, found to be true, it just creates more controversial thoughts toward the "dark side" of racing. As well, it may deter any new owners from entering the sport.

Also, "Frank Moore, who was the agency's chief investigator during Fermin's tenure and is now retired, has filed a declaration in support of the charges, according to Jamgotchian", does not look good.

Respectfully.......

Is he related to Bill Moore that ran the Sonoma Co Fairgrounds for years?

As far as a women in the sport, frankly I don't care if the spot is field by a monkey, a man, or a women. As long as they are fair show good judgement and obey the law.

I would find it hard to be un-biased against most of that crew as well.

Saved me the brain power to word that one tactfully.

Might even go a bit further and say if I had to choose 6 trainers that need to be sent on a long, long vacation, they would be in the top 6 with Steve Myadi and Armando Lage thrown in for good measure.

That's a lil harsh. Don't know what business your in but I'd think you wouldn't want people slinging your name about like that.

You are entitled to your opinion. I've seen too many horses stamped with their "skills" to have a different opinion.
