Shannon Finally Foaled! (att: Sam)

Postby adrienne » Wed Feb 02, 2005 9:58 pm

She wished she had foaled last night because she had a little bay colt at ~7pm. I missed the actual birth, but got there before either of them had stood up.

Despite dripping milk for two days, her colostrum was good so I am happy:)

This is another Bravo Bull baby (Holy Bull x Brave Raj) and Shannon is a Kris S. daughter out of an Irish Ruler mare.

I'm only posting one picture... but there are tons more <g>

Shannon can be a testy mare, but she's a brilliant mother. Not overly protective but very maternal.

I was going to set up a webcam with a cheap camera I have tonight, but I guess Shannon didn't like that :)

Sometime soon. He pooped but we're waiting for pee. What an exciting life:)

Plus, once you see them you feel MUCH less tired:)

Foal

Beautiful Baby to say the least. What a head. I don't think I have ever seen legs that long on a new foal. I'm really not use to looking at TB foals. He is very cool. :D

Sam... Kris S?

Postby madelyn » Thu Feb 03, 2005 6:42 am

Didn't know you were also interested in descendants, I have Miss Ballet, by Moscow Ballet out of Merry Kris Miss (by Kris S); her foal is due Feb 14th, by a horse called Waving Past (she arrived here Jan 30 already in foal, is going to be bred to Rocking Trick). Anyhow, I will post pics if I can....BTW she is a very big, gorgeous mare.

Wow, SO darling, and they are still all wet, he's so new, I don't get to see this often, thanks for posting these pics! Isn't he handsome. The pics are called "Henry" is that his name? Naming time is coming! And, also, this is only a guess, but

Not overly protective but very maternal

Maybe mom is just quiet and happy and secure and trusting with you guys.

:D
