Icons

Postby JimP » Fri Oct 01, 2004 4:45 am

Hi Guys,

Am I going nuts? (retorical question) Are the icons to the left telling us that there are new posts working? They used to light up but now nothing!!!
Have I screwed something up AGAIN?

It's not just you, Jim....the icons rarely work for me, either! I just keep an eye on the 'last post' time to figure out what I haven't read.

This board seems to just be having some 'teething' problems, it should be ok soon :D

The "new post" images only work if you are logged in to the boards. I have used phpBB for quite some time. The cookie settings in the admin control panel, "right out of the box," generally need to be tweaked for the automatic login to work each time.

OK, I am getting all of this, but I would like to know more about that cookie tweaks - are you talking about some administrative control in Windows? In Internet Explorer? Right here at this BB website?

What I was referring to was the admin control panel (ACP) for these forums. You need administrator access to the forums to have access to the ACP.

so is that why I log in, check the little box that says keep me logged in but everytime I come back, I find I have to log in again? It worked okay for a while, initially, but now, lately, I have to log in everytime I visit.
