Brutal business: The highs are indescribable, but the lows are unspeakable. Ann, I hope the heartache hasn't soured you on the business for good. And let's hope that foal you sold goes on to great things.

Old school conformation, & his outcross mares, pass on their soundness. Congrats to SOR breeder.

This mare has been good to everyone that has owned her. Record of 47-18-13-10 with earnings of 265k.

Eight years old and on a two race win streak, last winning an alw/35k optional claimer.

Tail female to Good Blood who was one of Calumet's foundation mares.

Salsa Express keeps on rolling. Since my last post she threw in a rare clunker, running 5th. She came back ten days later to run 2nd and tonight won for the 19th time in 50 starts.

She has now banked 280k with earnings of 5.6k per start. She has been good to everyone that has had her in their barn.

I assume you mean Flighty Girl? She is a full to Salsa Express. We thought Flighty was going to be a real good one when she reeled off wins in her first three starts. Her third start and win as an Alw/Opt 25k claimer. She got a little sore and was never quite the same after that.

BTW: Salsa notched her 20th Career victory tonight at Northlands Park. She spanked a field of Alw/35k claimers. Paid $6.20 which now seems like a gift.

I suppose it ALL has to do with her being a Non Fashion Bred. Can't be any other reason why she has been so good for so long.

All the best,

And the old girl just keeps on rolling on. She won another Allowance/Optional 35k claimer. She cut back to 6.5 furlongs after winning at a mile her last two races.

She beat a nice filly that is a multiple SW.

Salsa is now 52 21 14 10 with earnings of $303,704

Hard to believe some of the people who have said nasty things about claimers on this forum,

DRF report of all starts would kill a ream of paper. $100k in 1953 was a nice sum of money.

Yesterday Salsa Express picked up some black type by running 2nd in the Duchess of York Stakes at Northlands Park.

Although Salsa has been exceptionally sharp this year with 5 wins and 4 places in 10 starts, I do hope her connections will now allow her to be a broodmare. I do think she has earned her rest.

She has a wide open pedigree with No Mr. Prospector or Seattle Slew to be found. Northern Dancer only once in the 5th generation. Thus, lots of possibilities for her.

Deputiformer!

This old boy won the '07 Cup and Saucer S. at Woodbine, he's been claimed all over the place. Has started 65 times with 11 wins, 9 seconds, and 18 thirds. Last ran and won on Sept 14, 2013 at Barretts Fairplex for Dallas Keen.
No real breaks in his starts except 8 months off in 2011/2012.
