Picture Of Sham

Postby LKR » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:52 am

Does anyone have a picture or know where I can get a picture of Sham without his blinkers on?? Is there a conformation picture somewhere?? We have a daughter of Sham and she has a couple of foals here and I just wondered what he really looked like. All her babies have had a heart shaped star on their foreheads, I wondered what kind of star, if any, Sham might have had. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:D So cool! Who are the two daughters?

This is a link that has a picture without blinkers. One of profile pictures clearly shows he had a visible white star.

These were on the Sport Horse Data site, along with one of him in his blinkers.

I think the profile picture you're referencing is captioned as being Ancient Title, Shammy. Same pic is on PQ http://www.pedigreequery.com/ancient+title

The daughter of Sham is Wooly Bully. We have one daughter of hers who is by Basket Weave and we named her Buzz' Sham. Wooly's other foal is a colt. She had another daughter that we had to put down because she broke her shoulder playing with others as a yearling. We were devastated.

Sorry. I don't understand why they have a picture of Ancient Times on the SHAM website. Sham isn't even in his pedigree.

The pictures are from a book about Sham. He and Ancient Title were foals of 1970, so it's likely that they raced against each other?

The trifecta, blinikers, conformation and a view of the face.

If the link doesn't work go to the sporthorse data base: www.sporthorse-data.com search for Sham, and then select the TB Sham from the list.

Good luck.

Have you noticed thatt sometimes the post show up out of order? Your post wasn't on the system when I posted the sporthorse data base link. Odd how things get shuffled.

I wonder if those 2 pics ( the one in the stall and the confo shot)are the same "Sham"? One has a star in the photo and one doesnt?

I wondered that too, Walaa, but the confo shot is really pixilated when it's at full size, and the head is at an angle where it's a little hard to tell. I think there might be a small star there, but I can't absolutely swear that they're the same horse.

The horse in the stall looks more like Foolish Pleasure. He was pretty mean and in the picture his ears are saying "stay out of here" Sham was about 16 hands and he may have weighed 1,000 lbs if my memory is still in tack. We saw him and the other guys at Spendthrift. I have a picture of him somewhere and when I find it, I'll post. It seems like he was more dark bay than the one in the stall almost black.

Foolish Pleasure from the sporthorse data base. Dark bay/brown with a small white star. Could the photos have been mixed up?
