Call Brookledge. They have regular trips to FL, and Lake City is on the interstate, only about 90-100 miles from Ocala.

4 major commercial van companies are always on the list.. however they are also the most expensive.

So, cost vs. time. I figured I would put the word out there as a few private haulers are shuffling horses around for the season.

Cost vs. quality of care. Pick your poison.

the difference between a commercial carrier vs. private carrier doesn't always have to do with the quality of care. A Private carrier may care even better for your horses. (They may not), but a commercial carrier carries insurance of a min. of $2,000 for the value of the animal and a commercial carrier may have better resources when it comes to any repair, directions communicated with the base office, etc, as well as the man power to switch shifts while doing the trip. A Private carrier may have those things as well but the timing comes into play.

This horse I am in no hurry with and can wait, but if it was a broodmare with/w/o a foal I would go commercial to save time.
