Hats off!! to some of the terrific TBs that competed at Rolex this past weekend, among all the fantastic riders and eqines there:
Parklane Hawk (NZ) a 12 YO former racehorse partnered with Wm Fox-Pitt to WIN the 3 Day Eventing prize. Parklane Hawk had to compete at a very high level through all three aspects of this competition to win: dressage, cross country and the final day's round of show jumping. The competition went from having 52 competitiors on opening day to only 27 I believe who could pass the vet exam and were judged ready by their riders to compete in the final Jumping round. A very grueling competition of horse and rider. This equine-rider team has now secured the first two legs of the Range Rover sponsored Grand Slam of eventing having won at Burleigh (sp?) earlier. Now, they're off to Badmitton in two weeks time to try for the Grand Slam.
Fellow Pedigree posters: I only got to see what ABC covered on their Sunday Sports programming but would love to hear of other TBs that those of you who live in Kentucky and/or lucky enough to be in attendance observed competing.

....and it SHOULD read as the ROLEX GRAND SLAM (although Range Rover was very much in evidence as a sponsor of the Kentucky Horse Park's Rolex Event. Next and last competition in this series is at "Badminton" (not Badmitten).
