Kitten's Joy and the Lady Capulet/Roberto cross

Postby llbean » Sun Oct 03, 2004 2:30 pm

So Kitten's Joy is 2x3 Lady Capulet/Roberto; who share similar backgrounds of Turn-To (Sir Gaylord and Hail to Reason); Sir Gallahad (Motto and Galla Colors); his full brother Bull Dog (Gaga and Bull Lea); and either Salaminia (through Athenia by Pharamond) or Flaming Swords (through Blue Swords by Blue Larkspur); both being by Man O' War out granddaughters of Ultimus (Alcibiades or American Flag's half sister Exalted). Also Lady Capulet is 4x4 to Pharamond, a 3/4 brother Pharos; to whom Turn-To is inbred 3x3.

In Addition, Lady Capulet is 3x4 to Mahmoud and Roberto is 3x3 Nasrullah/Royal Charger.

Another combining Lady Capulet through El Prado with Roberto in the damsire's sire position is Baffert's charge Senor Swinger.

Comparing Senor Swinger's dam Smooth Swinger to Kitten's Joy's dam Kitten's First for insights into the basis of this cross succeeding in a statisically significant way; we find that one (Smooth Swinger) returns Roberto Rarelea's full sister Delta Queen (much like Monarcho's dam Regal Band); and that both have Chop Chop, Princequillo (Smooth Swinger being 4x5 to Princequilo's sire Prince Rose) and a source of Nasrullah besides Roberto's damsire. And also a source of Bull Dog besides Roberto's 2nd damsire Bull Lea. And perhaps of great significance, because it is more unusual, both their damsire are by Roberto and have Gold Bridge in the 4th generation.

Save for the in addition; the foregoing applies to Roberto crossed with other examples of the excellent Sir Ivor/Tom Fool cross. For example Kentucky Oaks winner winner Sweet Alliance; who has combined with the 1972 Epsom Derby winner in likely English 2YO of the year Dubawi; Yugoslavian champion Shalivar; and Barbadean Champion Peace Envoy.
