Gear It Up - Jura

FYI

Gear It Up, known to members of this board as Jura, died on May 21st from a likely pulmonary embolism after he contracted pneumonia.

He was a good boy. He was not a complicated horse - his favorite thing was hay.

I never did get to have him trained or to ride him. In recent times I hardly even saw him as I have had serious health problems in the last couple of years. I was also struggling financially to keep him, probably selfishly. But as I was trying to recover from my own woes, the thought of being physically able to spend time with him again gave me something to look forward to. So I'm grateful to him for every moment he was alive.

Every memory I have of him is a happy one, and I am thankful that his passing appeared to be peaceful and without struggle.

I thought those of you who remembered him might like to know that he is gone.

Geowarrior you have my deepest sympathy. I lost my old girl back in Nov 2012. I still miss her, she was a big presence in my life for 18 years.

Jura was only nine. I know how fragile they are but I still did not expect it.
