good Q--might depend on circumstances. we have questionable rules as to protecting horses in this situation. motivation may range anything from--horse healthy, owner likes to race, horse likes to race--to trying to unload the horse. should be minimum training rules for entry imo coupled with diagnostics.

Well it seems realistic to me on two counts. First the competition will likely be soft and second nobody is likely to claim a horse off a 3 year layoff. Personally he should have stayed where he was as a pet or a show horse because these things usually end up badly. If he had won all that money for me he would be in the back 40 enjoying the sun on his back........however.

This horse has been running for $4,000 for three years from 12/5/2007 thru 11/10/2010. He finished 2nd on 11/10/2010, chart: http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbPDFC ... USA&race=3 and was put away till his return the other day for the same 4 grand price tag he'd been running for, for almost three years. He showed absolutely no interest in this race while trailing far back. The good news is, the same owner/ trainer who had him racing 2nd in this class three years ago, is still with him. I think he might be in good hands with people that know him well and will be looking out for his best interest. Graham Motion had this horse in his hay day winning the MD Million Nursery Stakes on a DQ. TJ
