Performance Enhancing Drugs In Pigeon Racing

Postby Patuxet » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:17 am

I saw this in the NY Times and don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Pigeon Racing: Faster and Farther, but Fair?
By JULIET MACUR
Pigeon racing's followers were stunned when six Belgian birds failed tests for banned performance-enhancing drugs. It would be comical if it weren't true.

All new meaning to the term " getting high".
Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

to be careful what you post on this forum regarding pigeons and/or pigeon breeding. We might end up with a thread that migrates over here talking about the fragile underpinings (sic) of the modern (inbred) pigeon.
Imagine the daily pigeon mortality reports and the categories used to label the unfortunate creatures. It makes me shudder.
