Anybody using Quickbooks for their breeding operation

Postby wgc517 » Fri Aug 01, 2014 4:22 pm

Just wondering if anyone is using Quickbooks for their breeding operation. Seems to be a pretty good program. Looking to get some insight.

We use Quickbooks for our farm. It's just a generic accounting application. Both my husband and I were in the computer business for 30+ years and were exposed to just about every accounting application out there. I still use RealWorld (Passport Business Solutions) for payroll (I still own and publish the AIX source code to RealWorld) because Quickbooks payroll is priced ridiculously for an operation with 1-2 employees. Quickbooks is extremely easy to use and its utter simplicity translates to its having really no security or deep audit trails. It is, though, incredibly flexible and highly suitable for a small operation with a single user. Really, any accounting application will do - its failure or success is entirely dependent upon the knowledge and experience of the accountant using it.
