Are California Chrome owners greedy?

They run in the Pennsylvania Derby for the money and to avoid certain horses. They don't sell 51% of him before the Belmont and complain it is not fair to run against fresh horses after he gets beat. They think it is an insult to parade him for the public. California Chrome was such a great story and if he can't beat these horses now why not give him the rest of the year off and bring him back as a 4 year old. When Bayern runs his race there is very few that can beat him but California Chrome has come up empty the last 2 times. The Triple Crown and for some the Cripple Crown takes a lot out of a lot of horses. The spacing between the races should be longer for the soundness of the horses not to worry about history or prestige. The Triple Crown is fair but horses are not tough as they use to be whether it be being bred for speed, line breeding, or pushing horse to grow too fast or to run so early I do not know. Maybe there should be tougher standards when it comes to breeding. If a horse is crooked or has extremely poor conformation maybe there should be a free inspection to come along with that expensive registration fee whether a horse could be used for breeding or not just a thought. California Chrome is a nice horse and an excuse every time he gets beat is just bad sportsmanship. Chrome is good for the sport and sometimes some owners and trainers are not like Dutrow before the Belmont with Big Brown talking how women can't train or the Chrome Belmont which supposedly was not fair because a fresh horse wins.
