Do racinos really save horse racing?

Do racinos really save horse racing? They have temporarily but in the long run have they saved horse racing? Horse Racing back in the day filled grandstands before there was ever simulcasts or slot machines at tracks. NASCAR fills their seats and the PBR has done well due to great marketing and promotion. Nothing beats live racing as far as I'm concerned. What has it come to when we look to slot machines to save racing.
