Hi Toccet,
Good luck with your babies:>). Did you see Gary has a you tube area now. Here's one of them, he talks about himself and how he treats his owners. It's his personality and attitude that kept his business going all these years. I recommended him to you for the reasons he talks about in this video, I knew you would be happy with him. TJ

I saw the part 2 at the sales, about the Silver Train that was a reincarnation of Broad Brush. :^)
He reminds me of my sister who shops too much.
I met Modiste and Wallydabally Wednesday, by the way.
Very pleased am I--won't be asking for any refunds.
Especially Modiste--she is small but SO well put together, ad of course she'll grow.
A sweetie...stroked her and scratched her itchy halter spots too.
Wally has the biggest butt in the barn, and in horses that's a good thing...

I know, I know. The partner who named him wrote a children's book and that was a character.

Hi Toccet,
Yes I saw the Broad Brush one also. I figured if anyone is looking for an honest trainer, they will give Gary a call so I posted that one:>) We have to find out the BB ones name? Wally's big butt is a good thing for sure...in horsey land:>) TJ

Toccet02

I see the Blame filly Modiste is entered today, 2 July in the 4th race at Belmont. She brings in some very nice works. Good luck with all of them and good luck today.

I'm sure it was just a typo, but Modiste is by Uncle Mo.

Best of luck to you Toccett.

Shegar

I don't know what I was thinking, I guess I had Blame on my mind, at any rate, I hope she runs well.

Modiste ran a very good race from her inside post today. Toccet, I could see what you mentioned about her in the gate. She could not have had a worse post to break from. She got her self in a tangle while waiting for the field to get in the gate. So much so that they took her out of the gate and re-entered her. A good thing for her because she was the last one in....then broke running. The rider didn't abuse her and asked her for some run at the 3/16ths pole and she responded willingly to clearly secure 4th with one crack of the whip. This is a very nice filly and will be a much improved version in her next start after this experience. TJ

I think Modiste put in a good run for her debut. Getting stuck on the wood is not the place to be. I do like the way she saved ground on the rail without getting freaked, then swung out in the stretch to pick of a couple of horses. The winner looked way superior, but Modiste wasn't that far back from the place horse.

Certainly worth a wager on her next out.

Regards,
Shergar.

Thanks TJ and Shergar, I just saw the replay this morning . . . and I agree with everything both of you said. Rail sucks for 1st start, for sure, but yes, it was a steady run for experience, and she did gain late, and the winner was very impressive. Also . . .she's tiny. Haven't heard Gary's assesment yet. I figure I won about $75.00...IF the jockey's cut doesn't come directly out of the purse. Might be another bill. I dunno.

Glad she came out of it OK and apparently had a good learning experience. Better racing luck next time.

She won some money at first asking - that's great!
