American Pharoah is nominated for the Sportsman of the Year award (Sports Illustrated). He is behind the Kansas City Royals, and could use some more votes!

Re: Vote for AP, Sportsman of the Year!
What a stupid misnomer! Definitions of "sportsman" are:
a man who participates in outdoor activities like hunting and fishing
a man who participates in sports
a person who engages in or is interested in sports and especially outdoor sports (as hunting and fishing)
a person who engages in sports (as hunting or fishing)
a person who shows sportsmanship
I voted for AP anyway but would have preferred to vote for sports figure or personality of the year.

Well, as much as I agree with you, I still think he deserves to win, based on his accomplishments. I'm a little surprised, seeing how they submitted the entire Kansas City Royals team, that it wasn't Pharoah and Victor, together.
Please keep voting, he's up to 44%, but it continues for another week or two.

I think if teams can be nominated then the Pharoah team including Espinoza, Baffert (and team), Zayats and grooms/exercise riders should have been nominated.

Why did SI have this poll? American Pharoah wins the online poll with 47% of the vote and they take it away from him and give it to someone who got less than 2% of the vote....Serena Williams. Here's the article. TJ

Hard to understand why they bothered to have an online poll.

Did the poll site recognize previous voters or were people allowed to vote more than once?

I believe it partially recognized previous voters but it was possible to vote more than once if they switched devices. Not sure if clearing cookies worked also.
