Charlie's Penny
I was recently speaking with a client about stud fees and relationships to "big" horses - you don't have to drain the bank to breed a good horse. And a good one can come from a surprising spot provided you have really minded pedigree, conformation, and family affinities. I think a good example of this is Charlie's Penny, a young daughter of Race Day that is touted to be on the Oaks trail. By Race Day (6K fee) out of an unraced mare who is out of an unraced mare. Said mare already produced another decent horse from Race Day. In addition to being a son of Tapit, Race Day brings in some Halo that the family seems to like, along with some In Reality to go with that Successful Appeal. Too bad Race Day is off the horizon...
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
