Jockey Club Registration Certificate

Postby knightsstar » Fri Oct 21, 2005 11:53 pm

Just wondering...Does a jockey club registration certificate really need to be signed on the back? I recently made a purchase and was sent an unsigned registration certificate. However, I was sent a seperate sheet with the same information as required per the certificate...Is this O.K?

Thanks!!!

It *should* be signed but doesnt need to be. But make sure to transfer ownership with the Jockey Club. The easiest way is on their website.

hi knightsstar

I strongly recommend that you (as the Buyer) get an appropriate and fully executed Bill of Sale from the Seller (if the purchase was made privately...and not through a credible public auction such as Keeneland or OBS). The Jockey Club Certificate of Foal Registration is not a title.
