I see mares and colts for sale many time from Canada areas...how difficult is it to get them into US...permits/ test/ cost/ ..extra ?...interested sometimes but have ignored because of lack of knowledge. Any information would be appreciated...Thanks...Kenny

Coggins and export health papers will run you about $100.00 and will take 1-5 days to get (depending on where the horses are that you are looking at.

Vanning is cheap, depending again on where they are going to/from ...

We just brought a mare up from Louisville, KY to us around the Toronto area in Ontario, and that ran CAD $450.00 or about USD $400.00

So - all in all, negligible in the grand scheme of things ...

Who would you recommend for a shipper into the Ontario area? I'll need to be thinking about this come January. And is the weather a show stopper as far as shipping at that time of year?

It can be but usually the roads are very well plowed and salted.
