Except that this filly is NOT the first frame dilute TB, so her "The First Ever" name isnt exactly correct!

There was a palomino frame filly that beat her to the punch so she should re-name her "The Second Ever" instead! :D

Hi TC,

Interesting filly, for sure. Lovely horse...

But er... totally off subject.

I go many of TB boards and sites; I'm a lurker by nature, and I don't post often, but I sure read a lot of information. TC is on several of those boards (and no, she has no idea who I am from a hole in the wall, I'm pretty sure, so, this is not a friend jumping to the defense of a friend.)

I have NEVER seen TC comment on this farm before. In fact, I didn't know the farm existed until I saw the article posted at another board (where she also posts) and she honestly hadn't said anything there... so she hasn't been running around the net throwing up her hands and screaming that this breeder is wrong to name her filly that.

I have never seen her bash another color breeder's program. Now, perhaps it's just the places I frequent, sure... I don't know every site on the net, absolutely, and I'm not going to say I do. But where I go, the posts I've seen her make have been friendly, helpful, positive about other people's horses and programs, and she has freely given her expertise out over the net on a lot of different subjects. She's never come across to me as a 'my way is the only way' type of person.

In fact, if you look at her post above, if you didn't know she herself bred the horse she's talking about, you wouldn't know what horse she's talking about. For all you can tell reading her post, she just says there's a palomino frame filly. She doesn't say she is any way connected to said filly, at all.

Like I said, TC doesn't know me from a hole in the wall, and I don't know her personally, so I can only go by what I've honestly seen on the great wide world of the internet.

The fact that you as a new poster came on with a first post like this to this particular thread and went straight for her throat with a lot of accusations really bothered me, and I felt someone had to say something to you about it. Especially with your chosen screen name that seems to apply only to this particular post.

Disagreement is fine. Discussion is great. It's what a board like this is all about. But I doubt I'm alone out there with the fact that I really don't like it when snipers leap into a thread with this sort of behavior.

Now, I'll go back to lurking, where I belong. ;)

Thank you Shepdog ...

Ah ... At It Again. Wait. The proof is coming and no - it isnt my filly - Faux Finish nor is it Colour Conspiracy - my sister's SABINO (and not FRAME) filly. It is a palomino frame filly that was born earlier this year so I just find it totally comical that Norsire is going EVERYWHERE stating that her filly is the first and is even NAMING her as being the first one, when in fact she is the SECOND one out there!

It is a totally stunning palomino frame filly that will knock your socks off when you see pictures of her and yes - she HAS been tested positive for the frame gene.

Perhaps Norsire should have done some investigating first before she made all of these claims?!

You know - do your investigating first and then claim that she is the world's first buckskin frame TB (which I believe she will be) and have the articles state that fact, rather than say that she is the first ever in the world anywhere DILUTE frame TB (which she isnt  ) because then you leave yourself open for correction for all to see when you are proven to be wrong.

Shepdog .. I am like you as I always read and don't have too much to say but I got myself a user name so I could set the record straight a bit because I read some of these boards where the color breeders hang out.

What would appear to be fair is for TC to supply the proof of their claim if they want to take some of the credit claimed away from Norsire.

I enjoy reading this forum so hope this isn't going to end up like so many other places. meoooowwwwwww hiss hiss

Possible Frame?

Postby Norsire » Wed Mar 15, 2006 12:08 pm

There is only two other possibilities for dilute frames and one is from a filly bred by Norsire Farm, that had a dark bay frame last year, not a dilute. That mare is due this year again the end of March and one other at the same farm also due the end of March. If there was such a horse, I'm sure there would be a photo to provide, but no other dilute has been born yet. There is the possibility later this month.

I e-mailed Norsire Farm about this thread. She also stated that the lab in FL who did the DNA tested also does the DNA test for the other breeder and confirmed to the reporter of her being the first and only so far tested.

WARNING
Any new poster who signs up and immediately starts attacking another poster throws up a red flag. This type of behavior is typically expressed by someone who has a personal agenda and plans to use this board as a means to pursue that agenda. That is something that is absolutely not tolerated here. I am posting this publicly because there appear to be several new names jumping in on this, and I want to make sure EVERYONE is aware of how things work around here.

If you disagree with a post, say so NICELY. There are plenty of ways to make a point or express an opinion without coming across in a nasty manner. State your opinion, cite your facts, but do not do so in an attacking way.

Also, what goes on at other boards is of no consequence here. We do not want to hear about who fights with who or who was banned somewhere else. Posters here are judged by what they post on this forum only. If a poster can't follow the rules HERE, they are banned HERE. If they can follow the rules here, they will remain, and it doesn't matter what they do or do not do elsewhere.

It's pretty simple.... just play nice and you'll get along just fine around here.

Thanks Roguelet! :)

Now - for the record ...

a) I have NO dog in this fight. I DONT breed for the frame gene, I DONT have the frame gene in my breeding program, so I cannot PRODUCE the frame gene either. The palomino frame filly is not by my stallion or out of any of my mares, so it really doesnt matter one whit to me who had the first, second or tenth one. Facts are facts - thats all - and the Norsire claim is incorrect.

b) the facts are that this buckskin frame filly is the 3rd buckskin & white TB, after Faux Finish and after Chai Latte. For anyone that cares or keeps track of these stats for any reason at all ...

c) she is NOT the first DILUTE frame TB. Another breeder with a very well respected breeding program that produces excellent offspring, can lay claim to that honor, even though they really dont care to be the *first* at anything - only the *best*

c) Norsire DOES have the first buckskin frame TB ... as far as we know anyhow ...

Now - At It Again - give yourself a shake. Why would I care if Norsire had the first or the 2nd or the tenth of something? I, like the breeder with the frame palomino filly, only care about producing the BEST in our breeding program. It was nice to have the first buckskin & white TB, and fun while it lasted, but that and 10 cents may get me a cup of coffee if I am lucky ... ... Faux Finish now needs to stand on her own merits and make her own way in the world and I hope that she can excel in whatever direction we point her in and I hope that in the years to come, she is remembered for her talent and abilities rather than only being remembered for being the "first" colour, but only time will tell - correct?!
