Sales Contract

I was just wondering if anyone on here has a sample Sales Contract with a right of first refusal clause in it. If so please e-mail me a copy at [email protected]

We are thinking of selling our colt (who will be sold as a gelding) and a 3 year old (both non-TB's). They are both rescues and I don't want them to end up in a bad situation (as much as I can help it).

Get picture ID and make a copy of it, for your records, of the people who purchase the horse(s). If possible (and I strongly advise it) run a credit check or at least a background check on http://find.intelius.com/search-name.ph ... hform=name (or other similar type background search site) It is best if you have SS#, which you can absolutely verify as the correct person.

Make them fill out an application, w/previous address info and get references as to character. GOOD PEOPLE will NOT object to this process. I guarantee it. They will be proud to pass this test. It isn't so much about CREDIT RATING (unless you are accepting payments, or they are "skips"). It is more about seeing to their character and STABILITY and openess about who they are and what their intentions toward the horse's welfare is.

Remember...you rescued these horses to give them a better life and end. A few minutes of your time and a few dollars, will go a long way to help insure that.
