Do Alydars have any reputation for jumping ability? Other traits?

They're good racehorses often - not always the best sires.

Native Dancers in general are very good jumpers. I know of one from the Alydar line that a friend had for sale, and he was a superb jumper. He was by Talinium, a big, good looking, good moving, and a very good jumper. He was taken to the Florida circuit over the winter, and cleaned up in the hunters. He was subsequently resold for a very nice price.

This horse was an OTTB that was reschooled for the show ring very successfully. He was a MSW and allowance winner that showed good speed at the track, but was a real bad bleeder. His temperament was fine.

Aldydars top the jumper ranks. Alydark is one of the top jumper sires. Alybenbo is siring eventers. Also for jumpers: Crossed Swords.

He is no longer there but Easy GOer was on the top jumper sire list for a while as well.

That's pretty cool info... is that available online somewhere?

And where are some of these stallions standing? I couldn't find any info at all on some of them...

jumpers:

hunters:

Interestingly there is very little overlap between the hunter and jumper sire lists. Julio Marnier, Air Forbes Won, Northern Sound and Absolut are the only sires on both lists. For the non hunter jumper folks the hunters are judges on style and the jumpers on scope. I guess there is a short list where you can get both

Of course.... DUH!!!
I have this list somewhere...

But you've done the hard work of weeding out the TB-only list, so thanks! :D

Alydark I think is one the west coast somewhere in CA. Alybenbo is in OR. Many I dunno.Probably old or dead. A few of them are fairly well known race sires, but not most of them. See Me Come En was is OH but for some reason I think they moved to KY. Flying Pidgeon is here in PA. I think Air Forbes Won is/was in KY. Julio Marnier: somewhere in Europe? I see he is WB approved and I know he is not here! Rahy: at a 75K fee I don't think the jumper folks are beating it to his door!. Our Diplomat is in SC. Weshaam is in WV. Anything I could find on Cocky Golfer were offsping in NZ so I guess he is Down Under? Agile Shoebill: OK.

Turkoman, son of Alydar stands in CA. I have a son, Turkancer and a grand-son, Turkowar standing. Turkoman is on the North American leading sires of Steeple Chasers standing in ninth position last time I looked. His son, Turkancer is a huge black stallion that has sired some exceptional foals, one of them, Cisco Kid is quite the jumper.
