el camino - I just read your post on the owner's blog for Mr. Fantasy that there will be a memorial for Tin Cup Chalice on Memorial Day at Finger Lakes. I was planning to go to Finger Lakes Monday to watch Mr. Fantasy's race on the screen. Can you let us know the timing of the memorial? I wouldn't want to miss it. I saw Tin Cup race at Finger Lakes and really would like to attend the memorial. Thanks.

So cute! I love the blaze. She looks like a momma's girl; hopefully, she will take after her momma.

Nice website, too.

I should not have opened my mouth before finger lakes announced it. My Bad. The memorial will not be on Monday. Sorry bout that. They are looking at NY derby day. I will shut up and let them do it. I will be at Belmont then to watch the met mile.

Thanks for the clarification. When they first mentioned a memorial my thought was how appropriate would be the day of the NY Derby. Thanks.

TCC Memorial

I think it's cool that TCC will be honored on NY Derby Day. His brother, Don Corleone, won the NYDerby in 2004. It's hard to put into words how special their dam, Twice Forbidden, has proven to be. We had NO IDEA she would prove to be a phenomenal broodmare. I am so excited to follow the careers of Mr. Fantasy and her new filly by Forest Wildcat.

Tin Cup Chalice will be inducted into the Finger Lakes Hall of Fame on Saturday 7/11 (New York Derby Day). A ceremony will take place after the running of the sixth race (about 3:30 pm) with a plaque presentation.

thanks for the reminder! I'm right here and "know" the Derby is tomorrow but it could easily have left my mind while busying myself doing something useful and important, like checking my horse-related BBs!

Updates on Tin Cup's Family - Mommy Twice Forbidden is empty this year but has been book to Hard Spun. She was accepted to A.P. Indy Smart Strike and Street Cry this Year but we just couldn't come up with the cash. Her yearling filly by Forest Wildcat is very good. She reminds me of Mr Fantasy. Very intelligent, calm and easy to handle like he was. We plan on offering her for sale at the Saratoga Select sale.

Two Reigns, sister to Tin Cup has a very nice Andromedas Hero Colt Yearling. Mike Lecesse is keeping him to race in partnership with my purple haze stable. She is due fairly soon to E.Dubai. Mike says she will probably be bred back to Andromedas Hero. He tells me the colt has the same eye as Tin Cup.

Mr Fantasy is back in training at Palm Meadows and should have a published work within next 2 weeks if they stay on schedule. New trainer is Mike Hushion. He was the second rated 3yo colt by JC performance rate for 2009, barely behind Quality Road.
