I am so done with this sport. Thank god I got to witness two TC winners. It will never happen again while I am alive. NYRA got what they wanted. The horse goes lame after being switched. Rumor is he kicked something in his stall.

Horse racing is DONE in the USA. :x

This reeks of foul play and cronyism.

Tell me again how much the fed/state should step in?

Hi Diomed,
How can he kick something with his front left leg? I could see if he reared up and got his leg hung up on the water bucket or possibly struck out with his front leg...but that scenario is highly unlikely. If in fact it was a kick the injury would have to be in a hind leg? Being his left foreleg....that's the one that takes most of the pounding...his daily routine of better than a two minute lick through the lane with no backing off surely could trigger tendinitis. TJ

We're all disappointed, but if there's anywhere that a sober assessment of the situation will be made its on this board. People who have been in the game know well enough how hard it is to keep a horse sound, especially through the grind of the Triple Crown. These disappointments are the norm not the exception.

And we're all glad that the decision to scratch for the good of the horse was automatic.

Gee, I wonder iif the PETA crowd will recognize that?

The race is still a classic - IHA would have had his hands full.

I don't buy it.......there is something not being spoken of that caused the scratch.

I am dumbfounded.

For the good of the horse, yes, I commend that.

Are you ready for this one....they are sending I'll Have Another to lead the field on to the track for the Belmont Stakes...what is wrong with these people! What if he gets spooked...dumps the rider and runs off....even if that doesn't happen....does he need more pressure on that tendon?? TJ
