Please show me where I said you 'hated' the horse. You don't like him, that's pretty obvious, but I don't recall saying you hated him, nor do I recall anyone here anointing him a superhorse like you kept saying he wasn't.
*blink*... yeah, it's getting late. That made sense when I thought it.
At any rate, just picking one team or horse over another isn't an attack. You weren't doing that. What you were doing was saying the horse was no good and that he was an above average horse no one would challenge (which is truly bizarre since he's beaten every top 3yo colt in the country -- so who's not challenging him?). He's also proven he can win somewhere other than Churchill. Saratoga is a truly unforgiving track... he's won on it twice now. Or do we have to start hearing about how if they'd run it anywhere else, he loses.
Had you stuck to saying "I'm betting against Street Sense because there's no value in a 1-5 to win" no one would have said anything (that's kind of a no-brainer -- only bridgejumpers bet a 1-5... anyone else uses it as a free square in the exotics. Case in point, had I been able to make it, I'd have wheeled Helsinki, Sightseeing and CP West under him and hoped Helsinki finished 2nd -- good thing I got stuck at the store). You didn't. You went off about how bad a horse he was and how great Sightseeing was about to prove to be.
and seriously.. Magnifiecence? Dude, the Santa Paula.... that's all I have to say.
bdw0617 wrote:when I say something along the lines of, Lava man is overrated (which I would never say, at least not in thoose exact words)
eeeeeeh... he is overrated for the most part. Damn good horse, but not like the talking heads gush over him. Without doubt, he's the best thing California's produced since Swaps.... so long as he stays in CA.
bdw0617 wrote:And again, if I had to pick the winner 10 more times I would come up with Sightseeing 10 more times. I didn't handicap the race wrong, it just didnt' play out like I handicapped it.
eeeh, like I said, I did agree with the TVG boys about one thing... had it been a week day feature, no one would have wasted their time trying to beat him. They'd have singled him in a pick six and moved on to the next race. He was almost as much a gimme as Riboletta in the Distaff a few years ago (and yeah, I know she got beat -- didn't make her any less the obvious choice). Sometimes you take the 1-5 and use it to your advantage in an exotic. If you get beat, you get beat.
bdw0617 wrote:I will say, I did go over your post and I do apologize about saying that you were gloating, you weren't. I stepped over the line with that one.
And I apologize for saying you need to be smacked. You probably do, but only because you'd enjoy it.
I've scores I can brag about, too (pick One Dreamer out of that Distaff or nail the Cajun Beat/Bluesthestandard exacta cold -- truthfully, I think I was more lucky than good those days), but I don't like to do it nor do I like to see people browbeaten for picking a loser. At least they had the nerve to put it out there.

Thanks
I look at it moreso like a guy getting "lucky" with a girl.
If a guy goes out to the mall and has a Blue shirt on and he meets a girl who cannot turn down a guy in blue, he has a new woman and has absolutly no idea how he got her, nor could he replicate it again.
what I mean is, I'm more concerned about how you came to the conclusion than the conclusion itself. if your handicapping method consist of putting 12 horses on a dart board, blindfolding yourself and seeing who you hit, and you happen to get a 30 to 1 shot.. i'm not impressed, you got lucky.
but if you lost a race and explain yourself and how you came to that conclusion, you didn't do anything wrong, the race just didn't play out you planned it to. as long as you are planning right, you will win your share.

You just can't stop LYING, can you? Here's what Pfrsue had to write just to shut you up:
pfrsue wrote:Actually Sam, he did do what he promised:Rokeby Forever wrote:Yep, he's not as good as hoped. He needs grass so he can turn into Lure.
As Maven said, it's a reach, but hey, he said it. Good for him. *shrug.* No need to be vindictive about it.
What will Roguelet think that other posters are telling you not to be "vindictive?"

Seriously, what is your f*cking damage, Roke?
The thread had calmed down, BD and I apologized to each other and you have to come in to stir shit up again? And you don't think that's trolling/baiting?
How about the fact that you list "Bothering SAM" as one of your favourite hobbies? That's an outright admission of intent to troll.
Sue didn't have to post anything to "shut [me] up" because I wasn't involved in bagging on you for picking a loser. I made ONE POST -- not directed at you and not even gloating about you being wrong -- stop trying to make it sound like I was in on the browbeating you and BD took. You're no where near the master of spin you try to be.

PS: You read my profile, huh? I guess you really don't want to avoid me
If my own quote bit me in the ass, you should actually QUOTE ME. Instead, you're selectively clipping to serve your purpose and heat this thread up again, just like always. You're shit-stirring because you can't stand that the thread had calmed down and BD and I apologised to each other. Never mind the fact that you've made how many posts to this thread that I ignored? You have to resort to this inflammatory bullshit to provoke a response? And you accuse me of attention whoring. I saw half a dozen posts from you designed to get me to respond that I ignored -- how many more do I have to ignore before you get a f*cking clue?
As far as having read you're profile, it was sent to me in PMs so that you couldn't edit it later like you normally do -- like you edited that post 3 times while I was responding. Trust me, assfuck, nothing about you (or anyone else here, for that matter) interests me enough to read some bullshit 'getting to know all about you' thread.

I dropped the subject on page 6 - you baiting LIAR! All Roguelet has to do is read this to see that I was happy to let this go LONG ago. LIAR!
Sam wrote:You're shit-stirring because you can't stand that the thread had calmed down
I let it go on page SIX...until you baited again. LIAR!
People PMed you my profile? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Try again.

You need to explain to the rest of us how my telling Sue that I doubted too many here were waiting for you to admit you were wrong (Which didn't have shit to do with whether you actually HAD said you were wrong) = my baiting you, if that is in fact what you are considering a bait. If it's not, then it means you think a facetious analogy is a bait -- talk about narcissistic.
Never mind the fact that anyone with a braid would realize I read and responded to her post before I read yours. I don't always read the whole page before responding to a post, sue me.
Either way, if you'd "dropped this subject" like you claim you did... there wouldn't be half a dozen posts direct at me THAT I DIDN'T RESPOND TO trying to get me to come at you again. There wouldn't be the above post reigniting this thread after it had calmed down and BD and I had apologised to each other.

I believe Forest Gump's mother once said:
"Never mud wrestle with a pig. If you do believe you can corner and catch one, it almost never works out. If you do catch one usually all you're left with with is pig crap on your hands and a bad smell. And if you watch pigs mud wrestling, you will eventually realize they actually all seem to enjoy mud wrestling."
