Champs Elysees becomes 5th Grade I winner

Postby Keith » Sun Dec 07, 2008 8:12 pm

Hasili is now the dam of
2 Champions
2 Breeder's Cup Winners
5 Millionaires
5 U.S. Grade I winners with Champs Elysees winning the Hollywood Turf Cup.

nothing against his Canadian Grade I win but his win at Hollywood puts Hasili on top as maybe the greatest producer of all time.

And to think that American breeders are not excited to breed to a stallion from this female family.....

She also has a leading sire in europe called Dansili who didn't win a gr1 race himself but has sired an "Arc" winner Rail Link.

Dansili

Postby Keith » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:41 pm

Dansili is a Grade II winner and multiple Grade I placed.

Rail Link's 3rd dam is a half sister to Dahlia ,his broodmare sire Theatrical is out of very influential mare Tree of Knowledge, Theatrical's sire Nureyev is out of Special, and Riverman the sire of his 2nd dam is by Never Bend who is out of Lalun . Rail Link is line bred Natalma 5x5x5. Rail Link' pedigree is loaded with great mares

Dansili was, ironically, probably the best of Hasili's produce!

I don't agree with that. Bank's Hill was a freak.

I'd go

Banks Hill
Dansili
Interconentinal

the rest.

this IMHO is one of the top 5 BC performances ever. look at the race. look at how much horse the jock has going ino the stretch. he's got her under wraps while ahead while everyone else is all in. gives her the nudge and the race was over.

In fact Rail Link's third dam, Golden Alibi, is a three-quarter sister in blood to Dahlia. Her sire, English Derby winner Empery, is also by Vaguely Noble, the sire of Dahlia.

Your pregrogative I suppose, and Banks Hill would probably have the edge when her sex allowance was factored, though most form lines would put Dansili ahead. Banks Hill was visually impressive, but to assess form based on visual impression is severley short-sighted. The F&M turf is frequently a very weak affair, and she should have won like that to be considered in Dansili's league.

dansili never won a grade or group 1 race. that accouts for something in my book. while talanted I think Banks Hill gets him in a race between the two.
