GSV Meets Wednesday, June 28th...7 winners, 2 seconds, 1 out

Postby George William Smith » Wed Jun 28, 2006 10:25 pm

Decided to play the GSV a little different today. Instead of just betting the highest GSV number above such and such, I decided to go to the track cold [without form]. Buy form and look for races where the best bred horse was significantly better bred than it's opponents. In other words, I would toss races where the GSV's looked competitive.

Here are the results [you'll have to take my word for it that I bet them] and the updated GSV score that I got after I got home. My criterion was that I believed the score would be above 70 and well above all other entrants.

Belmont
Race 3: Burmilla, 71.67, winner, $3.30 [Wow]
Race 4: Shop Again, 76.84, winner, $5.70 [Big Deal]
Race 8: Sir Hallory, 74.18, winner, $12.40 [That's Better]
Churchill
Race 1: Daysofwebnroses, 72.14, winner, $5.90 [better than nuttin]
Race 2: Stone Age, 76.02, 2nd
Race 7: Lear Heights, 74.32, winner, $16.50 :D
Race 8: Louderfasterharder, 72.63, 2nd
Race 9: Toss For Cash, 78.45, winner, $9.40
Monmouth
Race 5: Montavonni, 70.06, 6th
Race 7: Somethingdangerous, 79.61, winner, $10.20 :D :D

How do you calculate GSV? I usually bet using speed numbers and workouts.

Whoops, the play in the 3rd at Belmont, by GSV should have been Brushed Bayou, but I hate Wild Again mares, forgot this was out of Omi, one of his few good daughters at producing. So the score is really 6 winners, 2 seconds, 1 third and 1 out. My fault

Brushed Bayou is 74.8 and Burmilla was only 71.67.

Dont worry. I promise you soon enough Brushed Bayou will prove GSV quite valuable... I am however rather biased. :D
