DAVID JUNIOR HAS THE CROSS OF THE CENTURY

Postby louis finochio » Wed Jul 12, 2006 4:25 pm

David Junior winner of the GR 1 Coral Eclipse Stakes, and Gr 1 Champion stakes in (GB) is another superior runner that has the Phalaris over Rabelais cross in reverse.

David Junior joins Nearco, Niniski, Grundy, Blushing Groom and Danehill that were produced from the same Phalaris over Rabelais cross.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

hi louis finochio

David Junior is quite a racehorse...

...and I understand that the Breeders' Cup Classic (on the dirt) is definitely on his agenda.

I very much look forward to that.

Best to you.

Respectfully

David Junior has great mares in his pedigree.

David Junior is by Pleasant Tap who is out of Never Knock the dam of champion Pleasant Tap and Kentucky Derby winner Go For Gin. He is out of a full sister to Champion Grass Horse Paradise Creek. His second dam North of Eden is also the dam of Grade I winners Forbidden Apple and Wild Event. His 2nd dam is the dam of 3 Grade I winners including a champion. David Junior's third dam Tree of Knowledge is the dam of champion Theatrical and $5 million dollar winner Taiki Blizzard. His 5th dam Pange is the dam of Strip Poker who is the dam of champion Landaluce. Pleasant Colony has had great success crossing with the bloodlines of North of Eden when you consider.

David Junior and Forbidden Apple.

Nice to see useful sires like Pleasant Tap sire David Junior and Slew City Slew being the sire of Lava Man.

Another interesting and perhaps significant pedigree attribute found in David Junior is the sex-balanced duplications of Never Bend (4x4) and Prince John (4X5). These come via horses bred on a reverse cross of NB and PJ in the middle of the pedigree.

The NB = Phalaris and the PJ = Prince Rose, those to sire lines have a long history of bloodline affinity.

Secretariat was produced from this cross, Bold Ruler = Phalaris, and Somethingroyal = Prince Rose thru Princequillo.
