Any thoughts on Silver Train? Is he the sprinter to beat this year?

I envision a sprint Eclipse battle going something like this:

Silver Train
Songster
Too Much Bling

Slap me with a fish if I'm wrong. You can also toss in whoever wins the BC Sprint on that list of finalists
Why so many 3yos on that list?
I think the 3yos have been very good sprinters so far, with the last two slugging it out impressively (and dominating fields when separate from each other). I hope that continues, because if it does, any clear victor of that rivalry could be a very exciting prospect for an award. But I can't envision one of those two winning the Eclipse unless Silver Train suddenly flubs up at the end of the year (voters love older horses- like aged wine- better than the young boys. Unless the boys just can't be ignored...).

By what I read today online Silver Train is not going to the Breeders' Cup.

Yea, looks that way...here's the quote:""Forget Saratoga. Forget any other track but this one," Dutrow said. "And if it's left all up to me, he's got two more races - the Vosburgh and the Cigar Mile at Aqueduct (where the colt trains.) That's it. He just doesn't perform on other tracks."

Going to be hard, SF, staying in NY and missing the biggest race day. If the BCwinner has any other wins of significance, the vote will go that way.

BUT....they did give the juvy award to Declans Moon, and he only raced in California, and also didn't show up BC day

ST is another superior runner to surface from the cross of the century Phalaris thru Old Trieste and Rabelais thru Cormorant.

Ribot ST tail male 4th generation great great grand sire also was a beneficary of the Phalaris over Rabelais cross in reverse.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

I'm thinking back to Mineshaft, who caught the Eclipse without ever going to the "big dance" because he already had so many prizes.
Of course, there's also Pico Central, who missed a close race for Eclipse because of skipping the BC Sprint. Hard to tell. (of course, between you and me, I would prefer if one of the 3yos won it... the one named Songster :) )
