Saturday afternoon @ Emerald downs after the last race. Indian relay races( bareback, three horses ), 11 teams $20,000 dollars, one race. Teams from Washington,Idaho and Montana. Alot of ex race horses by Mr. Prospector, Special Effort and Western Trick and others. Should be a blast!!!!!! If your in the area check it out!!!!!
Indian relay races are a blast to watch. Les Bois park hosted some Indian relay races this past summer.
There can be some tense moments when the riders switch horses. The riders attempt a flying dismount, then take a running jump on the second horse that generally is a bit fidgety from another horse running straight at them at full steam.
If one has the opportunity to witness an Indian relay race, you are in for a real entertaining event.
