He ran in the Hirsch. This is from the DRF article about The Tin Man's win:
------------------------------------
In the final furlong, T.H. Approval closed ground but his rally fell just short. Artiste Royale finished third, a half-length behind The Tin Man. The first three were well clear of the other finishers - Fantastic Spain, Quinquin the King, and Sharp Writer. Sharp Writer, a 35-1 outsider, was vanned off and was reported to be "off in the left front," according to track stewards.
------------------------------------
Hopefully that means it was just a precautionary measure.

Umm yeah and Swaps,
Thank you for answering my question altho I am not sure if you quite answered it? When they say off in the foot or unsound what does that mean exactly? Does it mean getting vet care and maybe coming back or maybe becoming a pasture pet maybe? I am hoping for good news here so am still unsure by this. Sorry I don't always understand the lingo and really confused on the vet reports.
Lame
Sore
Sick
wish they could go into more detail on all of this.
Thanks a bunch you guys.

Hi Carol. I don't know any further details about Sharp Writer, outside of what was said on DRF or on the vet's list. Other than calling Hollendorfer or the owner, I'm not sure you'd be able to get much more info, unless Louis is able to find anything out. However, it is a good sign that he's on the vet's list; they don't put euthanized horses on there. Unless the injury is career-ending, Sharp Writer will have to have a vet-supervised workout in order to get off the list before he can make his next start. If the vet is satisfied, he'll be off the list and can be entered into a race. You might want to add Sharp Writer into your Virtual Stable at equibase.com. You'll be notified any time he has an official workout or entered into a race. Hope this helps...

Mike,
Sorry I am so late responding here. Thanks for the heads up on the vets list. I had never even thought of that so that is a good thing to know. Hope we see Sharp Writer in the future. Thank you again.
