Fleet Indian and Pine Island
The two favorites were pulled up in the Distaff.....as they said, sad irony that Michael Matz won the Distaff, but the two favorites, like his Barbaro, were pulled up. I hope they're all right.

I could have done without ESPN replaying Pine Island falling down. I knew something was up with Fleet Indian when she didn't look like she was into racing at all. They say she strained a suspensory ligament...Pine Island...rest in peace!

Fleet Indian's strained a suspensory but wow how they got her taken care of as quickly as possible. Could've been worse. Do you think they might decide to keep her for now? There's a lot of sentimental value and can you really send a mare with this injury through the ring right now?
RIP Pine Island.
RIP Pine Island.

We all felt it was fatal but were hoping against hope. No sport can bring you from cheering to tears like this one.

I didn't see her leg. (Thankfully) Only heard the commentary from a track vet, that she "appeared to have dislocated her ankle". It sounds like a Ruffian-type injury.
