i had curlin for the Derby, I was a race early.. actually I think if Street Sense wasn't such so in love with churchill and dind' tget the dream ride, he might have won that too.. that and the 2 post.

Unless Rags to Riches runs, I htink Curlin gets the Belmont.

However, the bigger question I thougth about it is, if Street Cry was such a stud at Churchill, and in his first crop, produced a horse that is a stud on Track.... it could get scary

Street Sense moved to early...mistake by Borel...nevertheless Curlin is the real deal. Hopefully both Curlin and Street Sense come out the race in good shape so they can renew this matchup at the Belmont....Rags to Riches cannot run with Curlin and Street Sense...

Disagree 100% Calvin rode this horse perfectly the horse just hung down the lane. He moved on him at the right time, did not do anything wrong. He just got outran.

Oh shut up.

I ought to know better than to get attached to horses that have a nasty habit of hanging. I won't say Curlin was the best on the day but he was one of the 2 best (and 3 if you consider the Derby top 3 were the Preakness top 3 just moved around) and I still think Street Sense wins a talent competition--that said it seems like a domino effect, people seem to be thinking Pino moved too soon on Hard Spun which meant Street Sense got ahead sooner than he would've which meant he hung sooner which meant Curlin had time to rebreak and get him. They were saying Curlin started to hang too but his happened much earlier and he got a target to go after with time to do it. It's not a case of either horse proving they're obviously more talented, it was Curlin proving he's got guts enough to take advantage of a good opportunity.

Just like the Bluegrass, Street Sense made a winning outside move and hung like a chandelier at the end.

Another fine performance by the Lukas/Pletcher team.

It looked to me like it was a stride thing... Street Sense was collecting back up as Curlin was outstretched... I thought it looked pretty close. Just barely a head's length. I have a sore throat from screaming... I was rooting more for Calvin, I think!

Folks, listen......I wish SS would have won then we would have a chance for a Triple Crown winner which the sport so sorely needs. But, I'm telling you Curlin is a very specical horse!!!! Just wait and see. This is the beginning not the end as so many have chickend out. I hope we see him as a 4 yr old. We're all in for a treat.

Of course he's special. I honestly think Street Sense, Hard Spun, and Curlin are all pretty terrific, SS and Curlin maybe being the flashiest past 1 1/8 in particular so I wish this group of 3yos got the respect they deserve for having 3 classy horses like this amongst them. I think this is going to be an excellent year for us. Bring on the rivalries!

Curlin is bred to last....not like the Forestry that broke down on the grass today. I think Curlin's best races might be ahead of him!

The LAST thing this sport needs is a TC winner...do you honestly think a TC winner would run again after the Belmont? We retire enough horses early!

Nope, sorry, disagree...Curlin was running him down AFTER he got passed...took much courage. He was definitely ahead in body as well as the bob.

as much as I love curlin, and I really do, I think it was more of Street Sense loosing, then Curlin Winning.

granted, agqinst any other 3 year old in the world, he moakes that move and looks unbeatable... but SS is a horse that has ONE move... if he doesn't blow you away with that move, you can probalby beat him...

with all that said, like Carl said after the race, 4 G1's and 1 G3 and you go 3 and 2 and loose the two by a COMBINED head

I was there in person to see one of the most exciting races ever. I was screaming at the top of my lungs as the horses came down the stretch--it was hard to separate the two until we saw the slo-mo. It was an awesome sight to see. I really wanted Street Sense to win, but all in all, I was satisfied to be a witness to such a spectacular race.

Yeah, another year without a Triple Crown winner. It doesn't matter what the name is if there is another. For God's sake, one winner is named after the capital of Nebraska.

Lincoln is the Capital of Nebraska (and Lincoln was named after a President... just so you know).
