okay, so I'm watching the replays at Bay Meadows.. because I refuse to bet on a race with 4 horses at the gate.. so I'm watching the 3rd race... normal race, okay, then Direct Exposure gives the field the slip and takes off. Wins IN HAND by at least 5, and did it in 1:03 flat going 5 1/2
this is a 22k claiming race.
Now my first thought was okay, cali speed.. but if that was the case... at one point he had 8-9 on the field and slowed down... why wasn't the rest of the field close to him.
his last race at the same distance, he came in 2nd and the winning time was 1:03 and 4.
shoot... Regardless of how you cut it..1:03 for a 5 furlong race is quick. but is the dirt surface up at bay meadows THAT fast?
Okay...22k claimers aren't supposed to be able to do this
