Well---OK, but I was miffed that they didn't show any post parades except for the Classic. That and they had to drag out some old segments we've seen already--Victory Gallop mating and the jockey injurois bit.
Too bad: we almost got through the day w/o a breakdown.

They sucked!!!! Never did a segment on a horse that would touch a chord. by comparision to anything NBC ever did!

Babbling Kenny Mayne and Hank Goldberg can't hold a candle to the Beulah Park Twins.

Small head thinking again Roke?... always a mistake..l. though couldn't be worse than listening to Vic on TVG talk (in amazing fashion) without taking a breath or allowing his co host a word in....

Oh--I was wondering if it was my old warhorse of a TV (Zenith, at LEAST 12 years old, with wood paneling
not showing enough of the right side.
Other than the "cropping" not being adjustable anymore, it looks great.
ESPN left much to be desired. More horses, fewer stupid jokes about betting, please.

hi Tucumcari
In defense of ESPN though
...at least the camera lenses, with the exception of one, weren't delivering a fogged up picture today. There was one in the saddling area, that must have had a large foggy spot right in the middle of the lense...but that problem was soon corrected.
Yesterday...too much of the telecast was delivered thru what must have been "fogged-up" lenses.

No offence FOS but I believe it was POURING down rain yesterday. That in and of itself might impair the view. They did very well both days with simillar conditions one day worse than the other.

It seemed ok to me, I don't know how much of their babbling about betting is going to bring in new fans though. I always enjoyed the pieces that NBC would do, and ABC for that matter.
When Charlsie worked for ABC she also had a contract with ESPN. She said ESPN is like the poor cousin. ABC would have 6 to 8 tractor trailers for production, ESPN would have 2. That's the difference.

Victory Gallop mating? I must have missed that part. Please tell me they aren't showing horse porn on TV!
hi Tucumcari
If that had been a BCS National Championship football game (for example)...in the rain...I expect that the camera work would have been FAR superior to what was delivered.
I am confident that ESPN (ABC/Disney) could have produced/delivered a MUCH better telecast.
