The Green Monkey

Postby TJ » Thu Nov 15, 2007 4:45 pm

The Green Monkey worked a handy 5/8ths in a minute flat today over the all weather at Hollywood. He was tied with 2 others for the bullet work. TJ

Who did he tie? Todd Pletcher and Mr Ed?

his problem is not and has never been speed. I don't see why people get soo worked up when eh has a good work.l for crying out loud there is a reason they paid 16 million dollars for him. he works very very good. his problem, I think, is I don't bleieve he can carry it 6F

I've seen $50,000 claimers that work like stake horses, and that's pretty much my impression of the TGM from what I've seen - he's a $50,000 claimer. If he cost $100,000, that's what he'd be running for. He's had some career maidens and nobodies beat him in his two starts...it's not like he ever lost to anything with promise.

From his pedigree he should do better at 2miles.
Maybe he's just warming up but then the race is over.
Ops I bashed another.
Oh well couldn't help it.

Forestry is supposed to get better at 2 miles? they can't write races short enough for forestry

Saw him at Belmont working on the main track. Looked nice. I asked a few of the trainers I was with "So what do you think?"... they all concurred. "Not impressed".

Has he ever done anything on turf in the mornings? Not that I'm expecting his key to running faster than molasses to be blades of grass under his feet instead of in his mouth.

Hi Heidi,
Yes, he worked a 1/2 over a very slow inner turf course at Belmont Park Oct. 21. TJ

Ah thanks. Now are we sure the inner turf course was the one that was slow or was The Green Monkey just projecting?

He didn't know he was supposed to be working. He was just checking out the salad bar.

Maybe TGM made the course seem slow?
